To create a tool that allows fans of the Vodafone Mercedes McLaren Formula 1 Team to enjoy an interactive experience and feel part of the action.
An interactive video was produced that enabled the viewer to take a virtual guided tour through the superb McLaren Technology Centre near Woking, UK. Through their Facebook login, the video allowed the viewer to personalise the experience – with their name and photo appearing on Team McLaren merchandising material. At the end, their name also appears on a ‘winning trophy’ for being the Number #1 Fan of Team McLaren. See for yourself at
The British Grand Prix at Silverstone marked the launch of the video.
The feedback from the fans of both Vodafone Mercedes McLaren Formula 1 Team and Team McLaren speaks volumes – "louder than a formula one car itself ". Also with daily increases in ‘Likes’, Shares and YouTube views, the video has been a totally socially winning experience.
